Call activity in the clinical laboratory testing service provider Bio-Reference Laboratories (BRLI), trading at a new 52 week high, is seeing call activity that is 15x the normal expected with 1,247 calls hitting the tape thus far. The strike that is in focus is the August 35 call, where 945 calls have traded exceeding the current open interest of 137 contracts. Order flow is mixed with 53% of the activity trading on the ask-side but, current spreads are .15 cents wide and small trades have hit the tape. Implied volatility is higher by 10% at 40% from yesterday's close.
